    Short-Term:
I would like to have extra money for a couple month's rent on off-campus housing for my sophomore year in college. This will be in 2 years. A fair amount of money in profit will be $300. Since I do not have extra money to wager on risky investments for the short term, I will invest in the very safe government bonds. I predict an interest rate of around 4% and a principle $2000 with an annual addition of $300. Coupled with the $3100 investment return, this will return a profit of $300 by sophomore year.

    Intermediate-Term:
I would like to put a security deposit on an apartment after I get my bachelors degree. I predict that this will be around 2000 dollars for an ideal apartment that I can invest now. I will invest 2100 dollars in a Bank of America CD at an interest rate of 5% for 4 years. Since this is a CD, I cannot add to it once I have invested, which means there will be no annual additions. This will give me a total of $2552 by graduation.

    Long-Term:
I would like to have money to completely pay off (no financing) a brand new motorcycle for my 40th birthday, which is in 22 years. I choose to invest in an ETF, which would be moderately risky, yet could allow for a large enough payoff. Due to the fact that the timeline for the holding of this ETF is so large, it will not be subjected to minor fluctuations in the fund, yet the (predicted) overall climb of the fund. If the ETF grows by 12% each year, and I start with $1000 dollars worth of shares of the stock while purchasing $150 dollars worth of more stocks each subsequent year, I would end with $27,640 for a new motorcycle.
